Trisha joins the cast of Chiranjeevi's Vishwambhara

We had previously reported that Chiranjeevi has joined the sets of Vishwambhara, his upcoming socio-fantasy entertainer. The makers of the film announced on Monday that Trisha has been roped in to play the film's female lead. Chiranjeevi has shared a video of Trisha entering the sets of the film. The post is captioned, "Welcome on Board, The Gorgeous Trisha! #Vishwambhara (sic)."

Vishwambhara is written and directed by Mallidi Vassishta. He had previously helmed Bimbisara in 2022, which starred Kalyanram Nandamuri in the lead role. Vishwambhara is produced by Vamsi and Pramod under the banner UV Creations. The dialogues of the film have been penned by Sai Madhav Burra. MM Keeravani is the music composer of the film, with cinematography by Chota K Naidu and editing by Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao and Santhosh Kamireddy. 

Vishwambhara commenced principal production in November 2023, where scenes not involving the film's lead actor Chiranjeevi were canned on location in Maredumilli. Thirteen sets have been specially constructed to shoot a variety of portions. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on January 10, 2025 for Sankranti. 

Trisha was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan: II and Leo. She will be appearing next in Vidaa Muyarchi opposite Ajith and the Malayalam films Ram and Identity. She has also been roped in Mani Ratnam's next film Thug Life, which also stars Kamal Haasan, Jayam Ravi, Dulquer Salmaan and Aishwarya Lekshmi.
