Director Nag Ashwin who recently tasted massive success with Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD spoke at an interview recently about the role of Krishna and the actor apt for it. He said, “I did not want to show the face of Lord Krishna in the Kalki universe. But, if there is a full-length role, I think Mahesh Babu will be apt. The love that Mahesh Babu’s fans are showing, the movie would be an all time blockbuster, even before releasing the teaser. I think that the film will collect huge,”
The Mahanati director also added, “I really love Mahesh Babu garu in the film Khaleja, where he is playing a God who is a human and who is not a God. The situation is so beautiful. Even if we imagine him as a full-time God, I am sure he will pull it off.” When Kalki 2898 AD released, many cinephiles wished that Mahesh Babu would play the role of Lord Krishna in the film.
Kalki 2898 AD, the mytho-sci fi adventure film directed by Nag Ashwin released on May 9 and was acclaimed by all corners. The film has an ensemble cast of Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan among others. It went on to become one of the highest grossing films of 2024.
Kalki 2898 AD is based in a dystopian future where technology is advanced but all natural resources are eroded.
