RRR: Beyond and Beyond, the documentary about the making of SS Rajamouli’s modern classic RRR, had its OTT premiere on Netflix yesterday, after a limited theatrical release the previous week. The documentary has been receiving rave reviews from cinephiles, for capturing Rajamouli’s painstaking efforts and enthusiasm as he made the Ramcharan-NTR Jr starrer. On Saturday, the RRR maker penned a heartfelt note to the team behind the documentary edit, acknowledging their hard work.
The documentary has been created by Sriharsha Chundru, Vijay Krishna Chaitanya and Pradeep Meka, who are the co-founders of the marketing agency Walls and Trends. The three also worked as marketing directors for RRR. Taking to his X page, Rajamouli wrote, “Met Pradeep 13 years back, who then was just a young starry-eyed fan boy active on the emerging social media scene. Today, he and his team at Walls and Trends are the brains behind RRR: Behind and Beyond.”
The RRR filmmaker also acknowledged the work by editor Sirisha Akshintala and Vamsi Atluri, who has been credited with ‘additional edit.’ He panned, “Amply supported by another fan girl and immensely talented editor Sirisha, and also Vamsi. Finding the right material in 20TB of data is not an easy job.” Talking about the positive responses received by the documentary, Rajamouli noted, “Comments like the documentary is more emotional than the film itself are a testimony to their talent. Proud of you all… Keep it up.”
At a runtime of 98 minutes, RRR: Behind and Beyond contains interviews from the film’s cast and crew, besides offering a ringside view to the audience of the herculean effort behind many scenes in the film.
