The Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule has become the highest-grossing Indian film based on nationwide net collections, indicate multiple sources. As per data from Sacnilk dotcom, the film has grossed more than 1,500 crore from theatres worldwide, including a net collection of around 1,100 crore in India. While SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is regarded as the most lucrative Indian film based on domestic gross collections, the data pegs the Sukumar directorial at the top in terms of the net collections. As for worldwide gross collections, Aamir Khan's Dangal is still considered to be the number one Indian film.

Another 2024 film that comes in the top ten of the highest net grossers in Indian cinema is Kalki 2898 AD, the epic Nag Ashwin directorial starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, among others. As per reports, the Hindi film Stree 2 is also in the top ten category.

Released earlier this December, the sequel to Pushpa: The Rise continues its successful run at the box office. As per the latest data, it raked in around 270 crore at the box office even two weeks after its release. Recently, its producer Mythri Movie Makers revealed that the film became the fastest to mint 1,000 crore at the global box office.
