We had reported on Friday that Allu Arjun was arrested by Hyderabad police regarding the Sandhya stampede incident that led to tragic death of a 39-year-old woman. The actor was remanded to 14-day judicial custody and was granted interim bail. However, he was at the Chanchalguda jail on Friday night due to a delay in issuing bail orders. On Saturday morning, Allu Arjun was released from the jail quarters.
The actor returned home to a emotional moment with his family — wife Sneha, brother Sirish, and his nine-year-old son Ayaan. Later, while addressing the media, Allu Arjun stated, “I am safe. I am doing well, nothing to worry.” Addressing the stampede incident, the Pushpa 2 actor reflected, “I am a law abiding citizen. I will co-operate with them, and I will do the needful.” Allu Arjun also reassured about his unwavering support to the deceased’s family in whichever way possible.
Chaos ensued on the release day of Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4 when Allu Arjun visited Sandhya Crossroads theatre for a premiere show. The excessive crowd that gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor, caused a stampede which resulted in the death of a woman and caused minor injuries to her child. A case was registered against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management based on a complaint from the deceased’s family, and charges were filed under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which address culpable homicide not amounting to murder and intentional harm. A week ago, The Hyderabad police had also detained the owner, manager, and security in-charge of Sandhya Theatre.
