Earlier today we had reported that Allu Arjun was arrested on the charges of being responsible for the Sandhya Theatre stampede that occurred on December 4, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old woman. A while ago, the court ordered the Pushpa 2 actor to be remanded to 14-day judicial custody in Chanchalguda jail.
A case was registered earlier this week against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management based on a complaint from the deceased’s family. Charges were filed under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which address culpable homicide not amounting to murder and intentional harm. On Thursday, Allu Actor had filed a petition, seeking a stay on all legal proceedings pertaining to the stampede, including his arrest. The petition, however, was turned down.
On Sunday, The Hyderabad police had also detained the owner, manager, and security in-charge of Sandhya Theatre.
Meanwhile, Bhaskar, the deceased’s husband, has now come on record to state that Allu Arjun is blameless in this entire incident, and that he is willing to drop the complaint from his end.
Earlier today, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan expressed his support towards Allu Arjun, saying, “The actor cannot take the sole responsibility of the safety protocols. You can only tell the people around you...The incident was tragic. I express my condolences but at the same time, you cannot blame only one person for this.” Nani too made a post on X, expressing his support towards the Pushpa 2 actor.
