Amidst the staggering box-office performance of their film, the makers of Pushpa 2 have landed up in yet another controversy. On Sunday, Karni Sena National President Raj Shekhawat posted a public warning for the makers of the Allu Arjun for negative usage of the name ‘Shekhawat.’
Taking to his X page, Raj posted a video where he can be heard saying, “Pushpa 2 movie has a negative role of ‘Shekhawat,’ again insult to Kshatriyas; Karni Sainiks be ready; the producer of the movie will be thrashed soon.” It is to be noted that the antagonist of Pushpa 2: The Rule, who was also the primary villain in Pushpa: The Rise, is named Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. Fahadh Faasil plays the said part in the film.
Besides its commercial performance, the film has also been in the news for the stampede that occurred at Sandhya Crossroads theatre on Wednesday, leading to the death of a 35-year-old woman. On Sunday, the owner, manager and security in-charge of the theatre were detained on account of mismanagement.
Meanwhile, Pushpa 2: The Rule has been performing extremely well in the theatres in its Hindi version release, with Jaipur being the city with the second highest occupancies in non-South markets, after Pune.
