Pushpa 2: The Rule, the latest Allu Arjun-starrer, has been registering record-breaking figures at the box office, particularly with its Hindi version release, garnering Rs 286 crore nett by the end of Sunday. Recently, an old video has been doing the rounds on the internet where Allu Arjun talks about Amitabh Bachchan being his biggest inspiration as an actor. Now Amitabh Bachchan has responded to the video.

Taking to his X page, Amitabh Bachchan posted on Monday, “Allu Arjun ji... so humbled by your gracious words. You give me more than I deserve. We are all such huge fans of your work and talent. May you continue to inspire us all. My prayers and wishes for your continued success!”

Later, Allu Arjun replied to Amitabh’s post saying, “You are our super hero, and listening to words like this from you is surreal. Thank you for your kind words, generous compliments and heartfelt wishes… Humbled by your humility”

The Sukumar directorial, which is an official sequel to the 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise, has received over the years plenty of appreciation for its protagonist’s working-class origins, which is very reminiscent of Amitabh Bachchan’s Angry Young Man characters in the 1970s, particularly Deewaar and Kaala Patthar.

In the two-year-old video which is now going viral, Allu Arjun had stated, “He has a long span of career. I absolutely adore him, because we have grown up watching his films. He has had a lot of impact on us during growing up years. Even to date, I keep thinking, ‘Even when I get really old, I should still be acting as gracefully as Amitabh ji has been doing.”
