The makers of The Girlfriend, headlined by Rashmika Mandanna, announced that the film’s teaser will be out on December 5. The film is written and directed by Rahul Ravindran. The Manmadhudu 2 director made the announcement and wrote, “Meet The Girlfriend on Monday, December the 9th. Rashmika‘s character introduction teaser is coming your way. Hope we’ll have your intrigue and attention.”
The Girlfriend’s title glimpse was unveiled last year, which had a dialogue, “I love her so much that she doesn't need friends, family or anyone else. I am all she needs. I just want her to be with me 24/7. To have a girl I can call mine." The voiceover ends in silence. And Rashmika’s character is seen deep inside a water body like a lake, upset and suffocating, and finally not being able to breathe at all.
The film also stars Dheekshith Shetty as the male lead. Hesham Abdul Wahab has been signed as the music director for The Girlfriend. Krishnan Vasant is the cinematographer, and Chota K Prasad is the editor. Dheeraj Moglineni and Vidya Koppineedi serve as the producers. Rahul Ravindran previously made Chi La Sow (2018) and Manmadhudu 2 (2019).
The Girlfriend, bankrolled by Geetha Arts and presented by Allu Aravind, is being planned as a pan-India film, slated to release in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada as well. The makers have not announced a tentative release plan for their film yet.
