We had earlier reported about the stampede that occurred at the Sandhya Crossroads theatre in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening at the premiere show for Pushpa 2: The Rule, leading to the death of a 39-year-old woman named Revathi and leaving a few others severely injured. Allu Arjun has now issued a video statement regarding the same, passing his condolences to the woman’s family.
Arjun stated in the video that he, along with the Pushpa 2 team, came to know about the stampede and the woman’s demise only on Thursday morning. “The entire team went into shock. It’s very unexpected. We have been attending these premiere shows for the past 20 years, and such an incident never happened,” he said.
Allu Arjun extended his condolences to the grieving family from the Pushpa 2 team, adding, “Whatever we do, this loss can never be covered. From our end, we are emotionally there for you and would like to do whatever is possible from our end.” The actor also announced his decision to give a sum of Rs 25 lakh as a goodwill gesture. “This is to secure the future of the family, and especially the kids in the family,” he said, adding that the team will take care of all the medical expenses incurred by the family. “It’s a very difficult time for the family to deal with. We would like to do all the things to support you and keep you comfortable at this hour,” Arjun added.
The Pushpa 2 actor concluded his statement by requesting his fans and followers to practice safety protocols while watching movies. “We make movies for the enjoyment of you and your family, to leave you with a sense of celebration. When you go to theatres, please be a little careful. Enjoy the films and come back home safe,” he noted.
