The Motorcycle Diaries cinematographer Éric Gautier joins Vijay Deverakonda-Rahul Sankrityan’s period action drama: Reports

Reports suggest that Vijay Deverakonda and director Rahul Sankrityan’s upcoming period action drama has roped in cinematographer Éric Gautier of The Motorcycle Diaries fame. Th ace cinematographer has also cranked the camera for acclaimed Hollywood classics such as Into the Wild (2007), Ash Is The Purest White (2018), and A Christmas Tale (2008). His addition to the film becomes another exciting factor for cinephiles and fans of the Liger actor. 

Recently, there were also reports that South African actor Arnold Vosloo, popular for his iconic negative roles in The Mummy (1999) and The Mummy Returns (2001), has been roped in as a villain in the film. The makers are yet to make an official announcement about both reports. 

Tentatively referred to as VD14, the film is touted to be a period war drama set in colonial India about an untold story of a king. Mythri Movie Makers is bankrolling the project. Vijay Deverakonda and Rahul Sankrityan previously collaborated on Taxiwaala (2018) which is a horror sci-fi comedy. The film set to go on floors in early 2025. 

Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda is busy wrapping up Gowtham Tinnanuri’s untitled film. Director Rahul Sankrityan’s last theatrical release was the Nani starrer Shyam Singha Roy (2021).
