The official teaser of Hasith Goli’s second film Swag, starring Sree Vishnu in the lead, was launched on Thursday at a grand ceremony. On the occasion, Hasith, along with Sree Vishnu and producer TG Vishwa Prasad, spoke about his upcoming film, opening up on the themes explored.

Answering a question about the origins of concept for Swag, Hasith Goli clarified that the script is entirely fictitious, using the elements of matriarchy while based on contemporary times and issues. He said, “A lot of people confuse matriarchy for female dominance. Dominance is a negative word. Having said that, whoever gets power gets cocky, doesn’t matter what gender. Men already have power in the current society, that’s very clear.”

The Raja Raja Chora director clarified that they have mainly focused on this one angle in the film, adding, “I gradually learned about matriarchy in my life. It has been a part of our society for many years in ancient times. So our main attempt was to find ways to incorporate the same in a story format.”

At the event, the film’s producer, TG Vishwa Prasad, also stated that they are hoping to release Swag in October, considering there are many open release date windows as yet.
