Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2 wins Best Telugu film at the 70th National Awards

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the mystery-action adventure bagged the awards among many tough contenders

Karthikeya 2, the 2022 action adventure that was a hugely successful film at the pan-Indian box office, bagged the Best Telugu Film award at the 70th National Awards. The film stars actor Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran, Anupam Kher, Praveen, Tulasi, and more. Nikhil Siddhartha, filled with gratitude, says, “Thanks to Abhishek Agarwal gaaru and TG Vishwa Prasad gaaru for backing this film. And my brother, my director Chandoo Mondeti. We’re so happy hearing this news today.”

The National Awards 2024 Telugu film contenders include Balagam, Sitharamam, Major, and Ante Sundaraniki for best regional film (Telugu). Karthikeya 2 is the spiritual sequel to the first part of Karthikeya (2014), which follows Dr. Karthikeya on his quest to find the lost anklet of Lord Krishna. The award winners would be honoured by President Droupadi Murmu in a ceremony that is scheduled for October 2024.

Karthikeya 2 was produced by Abhishek Agarwal and TG Vishwa Prasad under the banners of Abhishek Agarwal Arts and People Media Factory, respectively. The film garnered immense popularity on release and became a crowd favourite, making it one of the highest-grossing films of 2022. The film’s crew has cinematographer and editor Karthik Gattamneni, music composer Kaala Bhairava, and writer Manibabu Karanam.
