A few days ago, we reported that the upcoming Ravi Teja starrer, Mr Bachchan, received a U/A certificate from the Censor Board. However, a day before the film’s release, newer reports are surfacing about the bigger changes made by the Mr Bachchan team in order to receive the certificate.
According to a report from Bollywood Hungama, the makers of Mr Bachchan were asked to remove a poster featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha, which is part of the entire rolling credits sequence, replacing it with an Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bachchan poster. It is to be noted that the film, which derives its title from the legendary actor’s name, also pays homage to the actor in many other ways, including a promotional still where Ravi Teja can be seen wearing Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic costume from Deewaar.
Among the other changes asked for by CBFC reportedly include altering a visual of a child smoking a beedi, with a pencil replacing the beedi.
Mr Bachchan, produced by People Media Factory and directed by Harish Shankar, also stars Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead.
