Popular Mahesh Babu movie Murari, which originally released in 2001, will re-release in the theatres on Friday across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, on the occasion of Mahesh Babu’s birthday. The romantic drama, directed by Krishna Vamsi, also starred Sonali Bendre in the lead role. Ahead of the re-release, filmmaker Nandini Reddy, who worked as an assistant director on the film, recalled some of her memories while working on the film.

Reminiscing some of their shooting days, especially the first schedule, Nandini Reddy recalled how the team kicked off the schedule by commencing the shoot at 7 in the morning and continuing till 2 am. Nandini Reddy added, “We would pack up by 2 am, go back home by 4 am, only to be picked up again at 5 am.”

The Ala Modalaindi director further recalled how the entire direction unit was exhausted by day 4, and asked director Krishna Vamsi, “Why such a rigorous schedule right at the beginning?" To which Krishna Vamsi replied, “The team hasn’t been working for almost a year, right? This was to shake off those cobwebs.” Nandini Reddy added, “That was trademark Krishna Vamsi, OG of directors that time.”

Murari, which released in February 2001, was one of the biggest hits of the year. And even for its re-release, the Mahesh Babu starrer has received a humungous response across the board. Reportedly, the film has sold more than 1 lakh tickets in advance, so far.
