Kalki 2898 AD: Amitabh Bachchan's intense look as immortal Ashwatthama unveiled in new teaser

The character promo of Amitabh Bachchan from Kalki 2898 AD was released by the makers on Sunday. He plays the mythological character Ashwatthama in the film, which is directed by Nag Ashwin and also stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles.

The promo features Bachchan who is seated in a dark cave. A child comes and has a conversation with him, praising his abilities. Later, the kid even asks him if he is a god. Bachchan’s character says, “My time has come. My final battle begins now.” He then says that he is Ashwatthama, the son of Drona and exits the cave. The caption to the promo video read, “From the biggest battle of the previous Yuga, to the final battle of the present Yuga. Introducing the legendary Amitabh Bachchan as immortal 'Ashwattama' from Kalki 2898 AD.”

Kalki 2898 AD is produced by Chalasani Aswini Dutt, Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt under the banner Vyjayanthi Movies. It has been a long time in the making. According to the latest reports, the film is scheduled to release on May 9. However, the makers are yet to deliver an official confirmation about their updated release plans for the film.
