Veteran dubbing artist Srinivasa Murthy passes away

Srinivasa Murthy, one of the leading dubbing artists in the Telugu film industry, died on Friday morning due to a cardiac arrest at the Vijaya hospital in Chennai. Murthy, who started his career in the late 90s, had dubbed for more than 1000 films. Murthy had lent his voice to several actors from across industries including Suriya, Ajith Kumar and Mohanlal. He ensured to keep up the emotions and not let the film lost in translation. His dubbing for Suriya in the Singham franchise and Chiyaan Vikram in Aparichitudu, the Telugu dub of Anniyan (2005), among others, are some of his notable works. He also had a huge fan base as he showcased his dubbing skills in interviews and public events.

Son of AVM Murthy, a former playback singer, Srinivasa Murthy acted in many films in addition to his dubbing career. In addition to his work in the south industries, Murthy had also dubbed for Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and the Fast and the Furious series.
