Way back in 2007, director Selvaraghavan made his maiden Telugu film, titled Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule. The film, headlined by Venkatesh and Trisha, was a massive success and was an interesting anomaly in Selvaraghavan's filmography. It was a family entertainer but not without its shade of darkness, and exploration of the human psyche. The film was remade in Tamil as Yaaradi Nee Mohini with Dhanush and Nayanthara in the lead. It was helmed by Mithran Jawahar.

Ten years back, in 2013, Selvaraghavan put out a tweet that said, "Watched AMAV after a long time. Had a great time working with Venky and Trisha. Don't mind making a sequel." Now, it is not new for netizens to dig into the history of tweets put out by celebrities to find a new spin or rekindle nostalgia about the time Twitter was a different place altogether.

But late Sunday night, something very interesting happened on X when Trisha, the star of Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule, decided to bring back that tweet by Selva. Reposting that idea of Selva, Trisha said, "I'm ready, Selva."

Now, this left netizens in complete happiness and confusion if it was just a harmless tweet or if it was a sign of something cooking on that front. Apart from the usual suspects asking for a Leo update, there was a huge hue and cry asking Trisha to confirm the possibility of a sequel, and there were voices asking if this also meant Yaaradi Nee Mohini would have a sequel.

While there have been no official updates about the film, it is to be noted that Selvaraghavan is working on the sequel to his 7/G Rainbow Colony (7G Brundhavan Colony in Telugu), and also has plans for a Pudhupettai 2 and Aayirathil Oruvan 2. So making a sequel to Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule might really not be that far-fetched an idea. Let's see if things fall into place.

Meanwhile, Trisha, who was recently seen in Ponniyin Selvan 2, is awaiting the release of Lokesh Kanagaraj's much-anticipated Vijay-starrer Leo, and is speculated to be part of big-ticket films headlined by the likes of Ajith Kumar, Chiranjeevi, and Kamal Haasan.
