The makers of Samantha and Vijay Deverekonda's Kushi released the film's first single Na Roja Nuvve on Tuesday. The release also commemorates Vijay Deverakonda’s birthday, who turns 34 this year. Also set to release theatrically in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, the first single has also been released in five different languages. The song is called Tu Meri Roja in Hindi, En Rojaa Neeye in Tamil, En Roja Neeye in Malayalam and Nanna Roja Neene in Kannada.
With lyrics by Shiva Nirvana, Na Roja Nuvve has been sung, composed and programmed by Hridayam-fame music composer Hesham Abdul Wahab. The song is a tribute to Mani Ratnam’s filmography, with the names of the auteur’s films Roja, Anjali, Geethanjali, Mouna Ragam, Pallavi Anu Pallavi and Dil Se featuring in the lyrics, while Vijay Deverakonda's character is describing his emotions towards Samantha's character. The latter parts of the song feature the titles of Telugu dubbed films of Mani Ratnam, like Nayakudu (Nayakan), Dhalapathi (Thalapathi) and OK Bangaram (OK Kanmani).
Hesham Abdul Wahab is making his Telugu debut with Kushi, and is also working on Nani 30 and Sriram Adittya’s untitled next with Sharwanand. Kushi is all set to hit theatres on September 1. Kushi is written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, who has earlier directed Samantha in the 2019 film Majili.
