VT 14 is now Matka 

We have earlier reported about VT 14, actor Varun Tej's project directed by Palasa 1978 fame director Karuna Kumar. The untitled film was officially announced on Thursday morning with a muhurtham pooja. Unlike most films, the title of VT 14, Matka, was announced pretty early on. A poster of the film was unveiled as well. The poster, painted in earthy hues, shows the illustration of a vintage military green coloured car rolling atop a one-rupee coin. We also see another illustration of a residence in the background. The film, as the poster suggests, is a period drama set in the 1960s. 

Matka stars Meenakshi Chaudhary as its female lead, while Iranian-origin Bollywood model, singer, actor and dancer Nora Fatehi will be featuring in the film, in both talkie portions as well as dance numbers. Matka is produced by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala under the banner Vyra Entertainments. The banner is currently also producing Hi Nanna, Nani's next with Mrunal Thakur. 

Matka is Varun Tej's 14th film. His 12th film Gandheevadhari Arjuna will be releasing on August 25, while his yet-to-be-titled VT 13, which is currently in principal production, is a drama set against an Air Force backdrop.
