The official trailer for Saachi, an independent film centered around a social issue was launched this Sunday across all social platforms by actor Prabhas. The film will be released on March 3.
The film is presented by Satyanand, who heads the Satyanand Acting Institute in Hyderabad. Shot on a shoestring budget, Saachi is written, directed, edited and cinematographed by Vivek Pothagoni, who has also co-produced the film with Upen Nadipalli under the banner Vidhata Productions.
Based on a true story that took place in Khammam, the trailer reveals that Saachi is a story about a woman in rural Telangana who has to take her father’s job as a barber when the latter gets sick due to a brain tumour. While she rises up to look after the family, she faces a lot of challenges, including ridicule and harassment, on account of her gender, and that forms the rest of the film.

Starring Sanjana Reddy, Geethika Rathan, Mula Virat Ashok Reddy and Chelly Swapna in main roles, Saachi’s music is composed by KV Bharadwaj.
