Krishna Vamsi, who is making a comeback with Rangamarthanda, has released a small clip of Brahmanandam from his film, on the occasion of the latter’s birthday this Wednesday.
Brahmanandam is playing Chakrapani, one of Rangamarthanda’s principal characters. The monologue features the sexagenarian actor atop a hospital bed placed next to a saline drip, histrionically enacting an intense stretch of lines from the Mahabharata. This video clip rightfully sets the tone for viewers in terms of what to expect from Chakrapani in Rangamarthanda.
Rangamarthanda is the Telugu remake of Natsamrat (2016), a Marathi film based on a play written by acclaimed playwright Kusumaraj. Natsamrat was headlined by Nana Patekar and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. Rangamarthanda also stars Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna, Anasuya, Ali Reza, Shivathmika Rajashekhar and Rahul Sipligunj.
The film is produced by Kalipi Madhu and S Venkat Reddy under the banners Housefull Entertainments and Raja Shyamala Entertainments. The film will have music composed by Ilaiyaraaja with newcomers Pawan and Raj K Nalli serving as the editor and cinematographer, respectively.
