The makers of Hanu Man have announced on Wednesday that actor Ravi Teja will be voicing the character of a monkey named koti in the film. Koti’s character is a tribute to the practice of deifying monkeys in Hinduism. Koti is one of the film’s more prominent characters. This is not the first time Ravi Teja has done voice acting in recent times. Earlier in the year, the actor was roped to play the voice of the film’s narrator and inner conscience in Mahaveerudu, the Telugu dub version of the Sivakarthikeyan starrer Maaveeran. Vijay Sethupathi provided his voice in the Tamil original.

Hanu Man is scheduled to release on January 12. Incidentally, the Ravi Teja starrer Eagle (releasing in Hindi as Sahadev), will be hitting theatres a day after Hanu Man’s release, on January 13. Eagle is directed by Karthik Ghattamneni. Along with Hanu Man and EagleNaa Saami RangaGuntur Kaaram and Saindhav are also scheduled to release theatrically in the coveted Bhogi-Sankranthi-Kanuma festival window.

Hanu Man is a superhero film directed by Prashanth Varma. The film, set in the fictitious island town Anjanadri, is the first part of the Prashanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). The film stars Teja Sajja in the lead role, with Amritha Aiyer, Vinay Rai and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar playing crucial roles. The film is produced by K Niranjan Reddy of PrimeShow Entertainments, with cinematography by Dasaradhi Shivendra, editing by Saibabu Talari and production design by Srinagendhra Tangala. Anudeep Dev, Hari Gowra and Krishna Saurabh have jointly composed the music of the film. The makers of Hanu Man have announced that they will be releasing the film in multiple domestic and international languages.
