We had recently reported that Adivi Sesh will be working next with Shruti Haasan for an action entertainer. The makers of the said film have announced on Wednesday that their film is titled Dacoit. The title was unveiled with a brief teaser that gives a peek into the world the film's makers are creating, along with a lowdown on the lead actors' dynamic with each other.
The title teaser opens us to a scene of death and destruction as we see corpses of various police officers strewn on a street. The street is also filled with post-riot rubble. We are introduced to the actors through their voiceover, which plays against visuals of them separately, walking towards each other. While Shruti is seen brandishing a gun, Sesh sports a neck tattoo with the iconic 'god is dead' quote by Nietzsche, in Telugu. We understand that the characters played by Shruti and Sesh are exes, a detail that was already teased out by the film's makers with the hashtag #SeshEXShruti, which was unveiled along with the film's lead cast announcement.
Speaking about his film's incendiary potential and its director, Adivi Sesh says, "Shaneil Deo has an absolutely fantastic vision. It’s grand without being grandiose and elegant without being uppity. That sort of an elegant eye coupled with a very rustic nature of the script and the characters set in the hinterlands of silent India, its villages and towns make for an explosive, angry combustion that is this film. I think Dacoit is going to explode in people’s hearts,"
