
With the 69th National Film Awards announced on Thursday, the Telugu film industry has won big this time, with the crown jewel being SS Rajamouli. The film bagged six awards including Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Background Score, Best Singer Male (Kaala Bhairava), Best Special Effects (Srinivas Mohan), Best Stunt Choreography (King Solomon), and Best Choreography (Prem Rakshith). In addition to this, Allu Arjun won the best actor award for his role in Pushpa-The Rise, thus becoming the first Telugu actor to take the award to his land, and Uppena bagging the Best Telugu Film. Chandrabose won Best Lyrics for Konda Polam, while Devi Sri Prasad won for his score in Pushpa.
With so much statuettes going to the Telugu film industry, several from the fraternity wished the winners on social media.
“A huge congratulations to all the national award winners across various categories and languages throughout the nation. Your accomplishments are truly commendable . & I would like to express my gratitude for the love and wishes pouring in from all corners of the country. Feeling honored and humbled by it all. Thank you for the lovE. Humbled,” Allu Arjun wrote.
Actor Chiranjeevi and Allu Arjun’s uncle passed his wishes to all the winners and said it is a “proud moment for Telugu cinema”. On RRR bagging six awards, Chiranjeevi congratulated each of them and said, “And most of all the Visionary SS Rajamouli for Leading the Way!!!!”
“A moment of pride, as we celebrate the winners. A clean sweep by my near and dear,” Ram Charan wrote.
Actor Ravi Teja wrote, “What an incredible moment for Telugu cinema! My heartiest congratulations to everyone for bringing glory to our industry at the 69th #NationalAwards. Best wishes and love to all the winners.”
Actor Nani wrote, “Telugu cinema flies high. Congratulations Team #RRR Team Pushpa Team Uppena and all who won from Telugu cinema and rest of the country.”
