We have recently reported that Nora Fatehi will be playing a very crucial role in the Varun Tej starrer Matka. The Mumbai-based actor and dancer arrived in Hyderabad on Wednesday for look tests and workshops concerning the same. The film, helmed by Palasa fame director Karuna Kumar, was recently announced with a muhurtham pooja.
Reportedly, Nora will not only be performing a dance number in the film but she will also be featured in the film's talkie portions. Meenakshi Chaudhary is the female lead of the film. Nora will be playing a Vizag girl in the film, which takes place between 1958-1982. Naveen Chandra, Kannada Kishore, Ajay Ghosh, Mime Gopi, Roopalakshmi, Vijayarama Raju, Jagadeesh and Raj Thirandas are playing supporting roles in the film.
The makers of the film have installed a huge set depicting Vizag in the 1960s, under the supervision of the production designer Ashish Teja and art director Suresh. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the film's music, with cinematography by Priyaseth and editing by Karthika Srinivas R. Matka is produced by Mohan Cherukuri ( CVM) and Vijender Reddy Teegala under the banner Vyra Entertainments.
Matka is Varun Tej's first pan-India film, it will be released in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, in addition to Telugu.
