Bhola Shankar, the recent Chiranjeevi starrer, earned a worldwide gross of Rs 33 crores on the day of its release. Bhola Shankar, directed by Meher Ramesh, is a remake of the 2015 Tamil film Vedhalam, which starred Ajith in the lead role. Meher Ramesh has previously directed Billa, Shakti, Kantri and the Kannada language feature, Veera Kannadiga. Bhola Shankar opened to negative reception in the box office.
The adaptation also stars Keerthy Suresh, Sushanth and Tamannah in crucial roles, with Venu Yeldandi, Hyper Aadi, Sreemukhi, Tarun Arora, Murali Sharma, Bithiri Sathi, Ravi Shankar, Raghu Babu, Get Up Srinu, Rashmi Gautam, Vennela Kishore, Thulasi and Uttej forming the extended supporting cast of the film. Bhola Shankar is Chiranjeevi's second film this year, after Waltair Veerayya. The actor is rumoured to work next in the Telugu remake of Bro Daddy, which will be directed by Kalyan Krishna. The Bro Daddy remake is reportedly set to star Trisha, Sharwanand and Sreeleela.
Bhola Shankar is produced by Anil Sunkara of AK Entertainments. Mahati Swara Sagar has composed the music of the film, with cinematography by Dudley, editing by Marthand K Venkatesh and production design by AS Prakash.
