Pawan Kalyan: There is no room for politics in the film industry

With the release of Bheemla Nayak few days away, the team, including Pawan Kalyan, Rana Daggubati, Saagar K Chandra, Trivikram Srinivas, S Chinna Babu and S Naga Vamsi, held a pre-release event in the city on Wednesday.

The event was filled with the biggest names in the state like IT and Municipal Minister of Telangana KT Rama Rao, Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, legislators Danam Nagender and Maganti Gopinath.

Pawan Kalyan spoke at length about the efforts Saagar K Chandra and the team put into the film, since its inception. "Cinema has become an ideal platform to bring many talented youngsters like Saagar K Chandra to the limelight. After returning from the USA, he had grown from strength to strength. I always wanted talented artists from remote areas to foray into our industry. I appreciate Saagar and Trivikram for bringing out a great artist like Darshanam Mogilaiah and I am really fortunate to have him as a playback singer in our film," said the Gabbar Singh actor.

The Powerstar of Tollywood recalled his early days in the industry. "I continued to work with the same commitment and responsibility as I had during Tholi Prema and Kushi. We made Bheemla Nayak with great effort and I take this opportunity to thank my producers (China Babu & Naga Vamsi) for being so accomodating while keeping in view my political commitments," he adds.

Further, he says that Bheemla Nayak is positioned as a battle between pride and self-respect. "The film is an adaptation of the Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum. The conflict (in the story) is between a police officer and an aspiring politician. Credit to Trivikram for depicting this conflict really well. He dedicated himself from start to end and without him, we cannot imagine Bheemla Nayak" avers Pawan Kalyan.

Thanking Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for extending support to the industry, Pawan Kalyan shares, "There is no room for politics in the film industry. It's a platform where only artists meet. Neither caste nor religion bothers an artist. Ever since Telugu industry shifted its base to Hyderabad (from Chennai), several eminent Chief Ministers like Marri Chenna Reddy among others gave us many incentives. Now Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is continuing that tradition and has been supporting us in all aspects. I thank him and his ministers for making every possible effort to strengthen their bond with our industry."

Pawan Kalyan also asserted that he holds Telugu film industry close to his heart. "Telugu film industry gave me life and without cinema, I wouldn't have existed. Films have also given me millions of fans. I do not know anything else other than cinema and whatever I do here comes with a great sense of responsibility. Maybe, it's due to my political ideology. Acting is a way of survival for me. Also, I do not have big ambitions. I always thrive to do something for our country, the Telugu states, our region and our people." said Pawan Kalyan.

Scheduled to hit the screens on February 25, Bheemla Nayak also features Nithya Menen, Samyukta Menon, Samuthirakani and Murli Sharma in prominent roles.
