Dil Raju launches new production house

Producer Dil Raju has launched his second production house called Dil Raju Productions (DRP), whose first project is a rustic drama titled Balagam.

Featuring Priyadarshi and Kavya Kalyanram in the lead roles, the film marks the debut of comedian Venu Tillu as the director.

Speaking about the idea behind setting up Dil Raju productions, the producer says, "Our (first) production house Sri Venkateswara Creations has become one of the successful banners in Telugu cinema. The audience and the industry have given me and my family a lot of support and love for over two decades. With Dil Raju Productions (DRP), I am introducing my daughter Hanshita Reddy and nephew Harshith Reddy as the producers, and together, they will produce experimental films under this banner. And one such attempt is Balagam, a film set in Siricilla, Telangana."

Dil Raju also stated that launching a new production house makes sense as the younger generation could empower the people, who are looking for a breakthrough in the industry. "I will have no involvement in their production ventures, whatsoever. However, I will ensure that Hanshita and Harshith will evolve as producers with good judgment and a nose for good films. At DRP, we are determined to encourage new-age filmmakers and films that have unique storylines. We are delighted to introduce Venu Tillu as the director."

The film has completed the shooting and the makers are planning to release it early next year. Also starring a host of newcomers, Balagam has music by Bheems Ceciroleo.
