Samantha's Yashoda clears censor formalities

Yashoda, the upcoming film starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead role, has been censored U/A with the censor board, the makers announced on social media on Thursday.

The film is set to release in theatres on November 11. The film will be released in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.

Yashoda is written and directed by filmmaker duo Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan. Backed by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad's Sridevi Movies banner, the film is billed as a "new-age action thriller". The film also stars Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar, Unni Mukundan, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Shatru, Madhurima, Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada and Priyanka Sharma in pivotal roles, Yashoda has music by Mani Sharma.

Samantha will be playing the titular role and the actor has dubbed for herself in both Telugu and Tamil. Recently, the actor had revealed that she has been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis. However, that did not stop Samantha from performing some action sequences for the film. The makers had released the behind the scenes footage of the film where the actor is seen getting trained by action coordinator Yannick Ben.

“I like working with her because she is very dedicated. She is willing to give something good and as action director, we want actors who are ready to give themselves fully for the action sequences," Ben had said.
