SSMB29, the tentatively titled upcoming Telugu film starring actor Mahesh Babu in the lead role under SS Rajamouli's direction, is said to be developed as a franchise, with multiple parts being expected to be made.
Expected to be a globe-trotting action adventure film, the new piece of information is that the film will be developed as a franchise; with Rajamouli's father Vijayendra Prasad, working as the writer. According to media reports, Vijayendra has said that they are in the stages of locking the final script for the first installment. Affirming that SSMB29 will have sequels, he added that while the story may change, the central characters will remain the same. The team is yet to announce the cast and crew of the film.
While an official announcement on the same is awaited, Mahesh Babu is currently working for his upcoming film SSMB28 with Trivikram Srinivas. After a small break, the actor will resume shooting for the film in January. The film has Pooja Hegde as the female lead. On the other hand, Rajamouli is currently enjoying the international recognition of RRR. The Naatu Naatu song featuring the leads, NTR Jr and Ramcharan, and composed by MM Keeravani, was shortlisted for the Oscars under the category Best Original Song category.
