Lavanya Tripathi's upcoming crime-thriller has been titled Happy Birthday, the makers announced on the occasion of the actor's birthday on Wednesday. Directed by Ritesh Rana of Mathu Vadalara-fame, the film is set in a fictional world and is loaded with action and comedy.

For the first time, Lavanya plays a full-length comedy role and the actor is excited about playing a different character altogether. "The script is high on comedy and I am really thrilled with the way Ritesh has conceived my character in the film. My character delivers some of the best lines of the film and I am really excited to be a part of this project," said Lavanya.

Happy Birthday went on floors in the last week of November and the makers are determined to complete the entire proceedings by early next year. Produced by Clap Entertainment Production in association with Mythri Movie Makers, Happy Birthday also features Naresh Agastya, Satya, Vennela Kishore, and Gundu Sudarshan in prominent roles. The film's music is composed by Kaala Bhairava.
