Oo Antava: Case filed by men's association against Samantha's dance number in Pushpa

The Oo Solriya (Oo Antava in Telugu) track from the Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa: The Rise has been the talk of the town since its release a few days ago, especially for its quirky lyrics that seem to mock the male gaze.

However, dissenting voices have erupted against the song from a certain men's association, which has filed a case at an Andhra Pradesh court. They have filed a petition for banning the song because it portrays men as 'lustful' through the lyrics and visuals. 

The dance number, which features Samantha and Allu Arjun, was released on December 10, is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The track has vocals by Andrea Jeremiah, Indravathi Chauhan, Ramya Nambeesan, Mangli and Kanika Kapoor in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi respectively.  The song's lyrics are written by Viveka (Tamil), Chandrabose (Telugu), Siju Thuravoor (Malayalam), Varadaraj Chikkaballaura (Kannada), and Raqueeb Alam (Hindi).

Pushpa: The Rise directed by Sukumar is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Muttamsetty Media. The film marks the Telugu debut of Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil, who portrays the main antagonist. The film, a first of a planned duology, is set to release in theatres on December 17.

The action drama revolves around red sandalwood smuggling in remote parts of the Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh. Pushpa will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
