SSMB 28 to release on August 11, producer reveals

We had previously reported that Mahesh Babu will be reuniting with filmmaker Trivikram for his next, tentatively titled SSMB 28. After facing multiple setbacks before entering production, the makers are finally set to commence filming on January 18 and have also locked the release date.

The development was revealed by producer Naga Vamsi. During a promotional interview for his upcoming film, Butta Bomma, the producer was asked about the progress of the Mahesh Babu-starrer and he went on to share, "We are starting the shoot on Jan 18 and will release the film on August 11."

Speaking about the film's female leads, the producer went on to add, "Both Pooja Hegde and Sreeleela are female leads, one of them is not primary lead or secondary lead. Even before we confirmed Sreeleela's casting, speculations started coming out on social media that she's playing the second lead. Both of them are acting in the film and we haven't assigned any numbers to them."

Produced by Haarika & Hassine Creations, SSMB 28 has music by Thaman S and marks the third collaboration between Mahesh and Trivikram after Athadu (2005) and Khaleja (2010).
