A still of Ajith in Valimai

Valimai trailer was released on December 30, and the first glimpse of the film promises high-octane action scenes, and exciting bike stunts featuring Ajith Kumar and Kartikeya. The trailer features Ajith as a no-nonsense cop Arjun, and Huma Qureshi plays the role of his colleague.

A criminal investigation into a suspicious death results in Arjun crossing paths with Kartikeya's character and there begins the chase. The trailer encapsulates the storyline of the film which captures the trajectory of the lead character, including Arjun's downfall.

The trailer also gives audiences a look at the emotional bond that Arjun seems to have with his mother. She seems disappointed with his actions, and this may propel Arjun's anger enough for him to think outside of the box as a cop and plot the downfall of his enemy.

Valimai is Ajith's second collaboration with director H Vinoth after Nerkonda Paarvai. The film is produced by Boney Kapoor and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The cinematography for the film is by Nirav Shah. The film will also mark Four More Shots Please actor Bani J's debut in Tamil cinema.

Ajith's Valimai also stars Pearly Maaney, Pugazh, Dinesh Prabhakar, Dhruvan, GM Sundar among others.

Valimai is slated to be released on Pongal 2022. The makers have not announced the exact date of the release as of now.
