The musical duo Hiphop Tamizha's latest theatrical release, Meesaya Murukku 2, tells a tale about the struggle to accept gaana genre of music. Now, Adhi, who is part of the duo and headlines the film cast, has met with composer Deva and shared the latter's words on the film.
Adhi, who met with Deva on Tuesday, took to his X handle to share some pictures from their meeting. On Deva's praise, Adhi wrote, "'Idhu podhum enakku, idhu podhume! (The is enough for me, this is enough!)' - Thanks to Deva sir."
Adhi also wrote, "The man who took gaana from the beach sands to the big screen - Him watching and praising the film is the greatest recognition this film could get."
Meesaya Murukku 2 features Adhi in a triple role, portraying three generations of a family of gaana singers, who fight against socio-political limits to find recognition. The cast of the film includes Ketika Sharma, Chaithra J Achar, Ramya Ranganathan, Harshath Khan, Baba Bhaskar, and Karunaas, among others.
CE's review of the film reads, "Meesaya Murukku 2 deserves plaudits for speaking up for artists without a background and pointing out how the independent scene is becoming increasingly corporatised, defeating its very purpose."
