While Karakattakkaran (1989) had some powerhouses behind the scenes, like director Gangai Amaran and music composer Ilaiyaraaja. The film also had some powerhouses in front of the camera, like Goundamani.
In an interview with CE, Gangai Amaran spoke about work with Goundamani on Karakattakkaran and shared his views on the actor. "The direction given to him for the scene, was to deliver the dialogues in three increasingly irritable tones. But the fact of the matter is that, we ran away after setting up the shot, because we couldn't control our laughter. My brother Bhaskar, who was present, and other onlookers couldn't stop laughing," said Gangai Amaran.
He also admits that it was Goundamani who was the brains behind calling Senthil as 'Naadhas'. "When I asked him why did you call him that, he just non-chalantly answered that everything is changing, and that this fit. Goundamani is a very intelligent man. He understands the notes and knows how to develop it."
