The makers of Haiku, starring Aegan and Sri Devi, unveiled a teaser to announce the film's release date on Wednesday. Helmed by Yuvaraj Chinnasamy, the film also stars Femina George in a prominent role.
The teaser features innocent love developing between Aegan and Sri Devi. As the former describes his love for the latter as poetry which runs as a voiceover, we see their romance being interrupted by Femina George's character, who seems to be portraying some iteration of Cupid.
Adirchi Arun, Subramaniya Sethu, Adhiyaman, Mime Gopi, and Indhumathi Manigandan also star in supporting roles in the upcoming film. On the technical team, Haiku has music composed by Siddhu Kumar, cinematography by Priyesh Gurusamy and editing by Sakthi Pranesh. It has a screenplay jointly written by Yuvaraj as well as Hariharan Ram. Previously, Vijay Bulganin was announced as the music composer but was recently replaced by Siddhu Kumar.
Haiku is backed by Dr D Arulanandhu and Mathewo Arulanandhu, with Srinivas Niranjan serving as the co-producer. This is actor Aegan's third collaboration with Vision Cinema House after Joe (2023) and Kozhipannai Chelladurai (2024).
Haiku is scheduled for release on October 23. The film's post-theatrical digital rights have been bagged by Netflix.
