Recently, we reported about Vijay Antony starring in a film titled Appa Kutty, written and directed by Mu Maran. The film sees Vijay serving multiple roles, including those of an actor, producer, editor and composer. On Tuesday, he dropped a new poster for the film and revealed that it will release in the near future.
Unveiling the poster on social media, where his character strikes an intense pose, the actor wrote as the caption, "The calmest person is never really the calmest. #Appakutty / #Naanakutty Coming Soon."
Also titled Naana Kutty in Telugu, the film's cast includes Preethi Asrani, Bagavathi Perumal, Muthu Kumar, Jenson Dhivakar, Aruvi Madhan, Chithra Lakshmanan, Muruganantham, Praveena, Haripriya Isai and Lizzie Antony.
As the title suggests, the film explores the emotional bond between a father and daughter. Reportedly, Appa Kutty offers a combination of action, deep sentiment, family emotions, and compelling images, and it caters itself to both action film lovers and family audiences.
The film has dialogues by Mu Maran and Puthiya Parithi, who is credited as the additional dialogue writer. Besides Vijay Antony, its technical team includes cinematographer Rajeev Rajendran, production designer A Raja, and action director Rajasekar.
Vijay Antony announced the film's title in May this year. He dropped a second-look poster on his birthday in July with a caption that called it "a beautiful story" with "a heartfelt performance".
The makers were eyeing an August release for the film, but it failed to hit theatres at the time. However, now that Vijay Antony himself has clarified its imminent release, the audience is looking forward to it.
Most recently seen in his Pichaikkaran director Sasi's film Nooru Saami, Vijay Antony's upcoming films include Lawyer, directed by Joshua Sethuraman of Gentlewoman fame. A courtroom drama, Lawyer stars Raveena Tandon as well.
