Kayadu Lohar is facing flak for her lack of promotions for the film Immortal, co-starring GV Prakash. According to a section of the audience, Kayadu has appeared in promotional activity for her other recent film, I'm Game, co-starring Dulquer Salmaan, but she has not promoted Immortal enough. Speaking about it in an interview with Galatta Plus, Kayadu said, "I haven't gotten into any of this (controversy). But I don't know why people have started talking about it. I'm not paying too much heed to it, because I had that one day available for I'm Game promotion and the team over here for Immortal, they didn't have that day."
Kayadu Lohar also said that she went for the promotion of the film for one day, but it did not happen due to date issues. The actor added that she had shoot for another film.
"You know how film shootings are. It's just not me who has to go and turn up on set; a lot of other things are also happening. I was shooting for a film, and then, I couldn't be a part of the promotion. But I just feel like I don't have to explain it to anybody. There was I'm Game promotion also happening, for which I didn't turn up," Kayadu Lohar clarified.
Kayadu acknowledged people's opinion about which film is more important. "I'm used to it," the actor said. Interestingly, she agreed to the assumption that she took a break from social media because of the intense scrutiny over her participation in film promotions. The actor suggested that this is politically motivated as well. "I'm very bad with this. I'm just a very innocent, honest person. I'll just speak my heart out," she said before adding that she has made peace with netizens' tendency to be critical of artists.
