Director Janakiraman's long-awaited film Titanic, starring Kalaiyarasan and Anandhi, has been pushed by a week due to a lack of screens following the release of Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth. The film will now hit theatres on October 23, having missed out on the October 16 window.
In a statement shared on social media, Janakiraman wrote, "After years of hard work, dedication, and overcoming numerous hurdles, we have finally cleared all the obstacles and are ready to bring our film to the big screen. Due to limited theatre availability, we have scheduled the release of Titanic (Tamil) for 23rd October. We strongly believe that a good film will always find it splace in the hearts of its audience, regardless of when it arrives."
The film was first announced way back in 2016 but faced multiple delays. After multiple postpones, including twice in 2022, once in 2025 and now once this year, Titanic is finally set to hit theatres.
Produced by CV Kumar of the Thirukumaran Entertainment banner, the film's cast includes Kaali Venkat, Ashna zaveri, Ragav Vijay, Madhumita, Chetan, and Devadarshini. It also has director Balaji Mohan and actor Gayathri making guest appearances.
On the technical front, it has composer Nivas K Prassana, cinematographer Ballu, art director S Ramprasad, and editors Radhakrishnan Dhanapal and Ignatious Aswin.
Janakiraman described it as "a beautiful journey filled with love, laughter, emotions and fun." He also promised that the film would make the audience nostalgic, reminiscing about their school time and first love, besides walking them "through the journey of love from those innocent moments to married life."
The note added, "As a filmmaker, nothing means more to me than seeing our film connect with you and become a memorable part of your lives."
