The filmmaker-actor told Karthik that he has dealt with a sensitive subject with conviction, with regard to the artistic, commercial and poetic aspects of cinema. "You have taken such an interesting film and have done it superbly. Hats off to you, sir," he told the Dorothy director.
Upendra also appreciated the performances of Rishikanth and Sananth in the film. To Rishikanth, the filmmaker-actor said, "You are like a commercial mass (hero), and you look very beautiful." On the other hand, he told Sananth, "You have delivered an extraordinary performance."
At multiple points of the video, Upendra acknowledged the fact that Karthik is his admirer. The actor-director shared that he understood why Karthik is a fan of his cult films after viewing Dorothy.
Upendra added that the film will travel to several more festivals and conveyed his best wishes to Karthik Subbaraj and his team. Recently, the film earned a standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival.
