Kumaran Thangarajan, known for his role in the 2025 film Kumaara Sambavam and his involvement in Bigg Boss Tamil season 10, is set to star in director Mano Ve Kannathasan's upcoming film, titled Irudhi Pakkam Vol2 Fresh Blood. The film is a sequel to Mano's own 2021 thriller Irudhi Pakkam.
The upcoming film also stars Smeha Manimegalai and Rajesh Balachandiran in important roles. It is worth noting that Rajesh Balachandiran played an important character in the 2021 film as well. The cast includes Abishek Joseph George as well.
On Thursday, actor Manikandan dropped the title poster for the film, featuring a woman's body lying in a pool of blood with kitchen utensils around her. The trail of bloods leads to the back of a car, hinting at an accident-induced murder and an investigation element in the film. According to a press release, the story follows some characters that try to cover up the crime and others attempting to uncover the mystery behind it.
The Irudhi Pakkam sequel is produced by Silambarasan, Sandilyan, Sasikumar, and Selvan. It marks the third production venture of the banner Insomniac's Dream Creations. Principal photography on the film has been wrapped, with locations including Chennai and Perambalur, and it is expected to release in the near future.
On the technical front, the film starring the Bigg Boss Tamil season 10 fame retains the 2021 film's editor Ram Pandian and composer MS Jones Rupert. The new additions to the core technical team are director of photography Lokesh Elangovan, who was part of the larger cinematography team for the 2021 film, and art director Aaratha Balasubramanian. It is worth noting that Lokesh Elangovan also doubles up as a co-director for Irudhi Pakkam Vol2 Fresh Blood.
