While cinematographer Selvakumar SK worked with Lokesh Kanagaraj on Maanagaram (2017), he confesses that the latter's affinity with guns, mad it easier for Lokesh to act in Arun Matheswaran's DC.

In an interview with CE, Selvakumar confesses that Lokesh was initially hesitant to be in front of the camera when they were working on a short film. But the cinematographer shared his amazement for DC by saying. "I was very fascinated by DC." He added, "I knew how he would handle guns. I was fascinated because I am not sure other leading men would handle guns in such a manner."

Selvakumar went on to say, "He has an interest in guns. If he goes out of the country he would get a gun for his collection. He handles them with such ease."

DC was Lokesh Kanagaraj's full fledged acting debut. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the film was an adaptation of the romantic tragedy novel, Devadas.

Meanwhile Selvakumar's latest release was the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Baththa, which has opened to positive reviews. The film reunited Vijay Sethupathi and Balaji Tharaneetharan, after Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom (2012) and Seethakaathi (2018).
