Titanic, the long-awaited Kalaiyarasan starrer, finally has a release date after multiple postponements. Recently, the film missed its October 23 release slot after its makers pushed it by a week due to limited screens following the release of Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth. On Saturday, they revealed that director Janakiraman's film is set to hit theatres on November 13. In the announcement post, they describe it as a "fun-filled romantic comedy," with some romance, a bit of emotion, and a lot of fun. They added, "Get ready for a laughter filled love journey!"
First announced ten years ago, Titanic faced several delays. It was postponed once in 2015 and two times in 2022 and twice this year as well. Produced by CV Kumar of the Thirukumaran Entertainment banner, the film also stars Anandhi in the female lead role. Its cast includes Kaali Venkat, Ashna zaveri, Ragav Vijay, Madhumita, Chetan, and Devadarshini. Besides, filmmaker Balaji Mohan and actor Gayathri also make guest appearances in the film.
Its technical team includes composer Nivas K Prassana, art director S Ramprasad, cinematographer Ballu, and editors Radhakrishnan Dhanapal and Ignatious Aswin.
In a recent note, director Janakiraman described Titanic as "a beautiful journey filled with love, laughter, emotions, and fun." He added that the film would take viewers back to their school days, reminding them of their first love and walking them "through the journey of love from those innocent moments to married life." The filmmaker also expressed his hope that the film will make the audience "smile, laugh, reminisce and connect with" their life experiences.
The film's release is set to coincide with that of John Doe, starring Arjun Das. Meanwhile, Suriya's Scene is also expected to be running in theatres at the time, posing stiff competition for Titanic.
