On Saturday, on the occasion of the actor's birthday, the makers of the film shared a new poster, in addition to announcing that the film's shoot is scheduled to commence on the same day.
Kamal Haasan is seen wielding a pistol in the new poster, giving a fierce look. Sharing the poster, the makers wrote, "6 ROUNDS, ZERO MERCY. Revenge does give satisfaction, but… Happy Birthday to our SANDIYAR! SHOOT BEGINS TODAY." More details about the film's extended cast and plot are awaited.
Kamal is producing the upcoming film under his Raaj Kamal Films International banner along with R Mahendran. Arun Kumar then made the Siddharth led Chiththa (2023) and Veera Dheera Sooran (2025), which featured Vikram in the lead.
Beyond Sandiyar, Kamal Haasan is set to reunite with Rajinikanth on screen after Ninaithale Inikkum (1979), in a yet-to-be-titled project directed by Nelson. He is also returning to the Indian franchise with Shankar’s Indian 3. In addition, Kamal is backing Dharman, starring Rajinikanth and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. Anirudh is composing the music for all three projects. Kamal is also backing Seyon, the sophomore directorial of Thaai Kizhavi filmmaker Sivakumar Murugesan.
