Writer-director Selvin Raj Xavier's film Love Bite, starring Santhanam in the lead role, is set to hit theatres in December, the actor announced recently. On Saturday, he shared a poster offering a first look at the characters in the upcoming film. It also stars Aparna Das, Anandraj, VTV Ganesh, Rajendran, Muthukumar, Redin Kingsley, Adithya Kathir, Bjorn Surrao, and Nirosha, among others.
Santhanam wrote in the announcement caption, "The outbreak is serious. The people handling it? Not so much Your next dose of infectious laughter arrives with Love Bite in theatres this December!"
The upcoming film is produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh under the AGS Entertainment banner. The film brings the producers back together with director Selvin Raj Xavier after their collaboration on 2023's Conjuring Kannappan. The makers are yet to reveal plot specifics. However, the promotional materials hint at a comedic film exploring zombies, with chaotic survival situations.
The film was officially launched in May this year with a conventional pooja ceremony and wrapped up production in October. The makers are yet to finalise the exact release date.
Santhanam was last seen in the horror-comedy Devil's Double Next Level, also known as DD Next Level. Directed by Prem Anand, the film hit theatres in May last year. According to data from the box office tracker Sacnilk, it has earned around 24 crore from theatres.
The actor was supposed to have a cameo in Jailer 2, alongside Rajinikanth, but the makers of the film cut out his entire portion from it. The decision sparked a debate among audiences, which intensified as the actor appeared in a success celebration with Rajinikanth and other Jailer 2 stars.
Santhanam's upcoming films also include a science fiction film titled Athisaya Piravi, directed by Sudhaman Krishna.
