Following the theatrical release on April 3, Leader, starring Saravanan, is set to get its digital premiere on Prime Video on May 29. The action thriller is directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar.
Leader opened to mixed to positive reviews upon release. The film revolves around an innocent father and his daughter whose lives are upended after a powerful gangster enters their lives. The film performed decently at the box office. An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, "Basically, despite having similar beats to Legend, Leader proves that writing flourishes and a strong conviction to say ‘NO’ when required can make a film out of anything and an actor out of anyone."
The film, marking Saravanan's sophomore after his debut Legend, also featured Sham, Andrea, Santhosh Prathap, Payal Rajput, Lal, Prabaharan, Amirtha Aiyer, VTV Ganesh, Iyal, Aishwarya, Mariam George, Nisha, and Adithya Kathir.
RS Durai Senthilkumar made his directorial debut with Ethir Neechal, starring Sivakarthikeyan. He went on to helm films like Kaaki Sattai, Kodi, Pattas and Garudan.
