Among the many filmmakers and actors who have been praising Suriya's latest action drama Karuppu, Mysskin has now shared a few words on the RJ Balaji-directorial, appreciating the director's grit and determination in bringing out the film despite facing several hurdles.

Speaking at a recent event, Mysskin said, "There are questions of 'What is a good film?', 'What is a commercial film?, 'Which are the films that need to be watched', and 'Which films will be successful?' and 'Which films need to become successful?'. In that way, Karuppu, which was released a few days ago became a huge hit. I was very happy as Suriya faced many setbacks for the last 4-5 years. I prayed for this film to be successful."

He added, "RJ Balaji came to the industry from a different field and proved his mettle. I called a person from the distributor's side almost ten times, asking if the film was released or not. When he said that it has hit theatres and is running successfully, I was ecstatic. It is a film that is bound to have a good theatrical run."

Karuppu stars Trisha as the female lead, reuniting with her Aaru (2005) co-star Suriya. The supporting cast includes Yogi Babu, Indrans, Sshivada, Swasika, Natty, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi. RJ Balaji also plays a key role in the film which has already entered the Rs 150 crore club at the box office.

Meanwhile, Mysskin has two long-delayed films - Andrea Jeremiah's Pisaasu 2 and Vijay Sethupathi's Train, which are yet to get a release date. On the acting front, he last played a cameo appearance in Vignesh Shivan-Pradeep Ranganathan's Love Insurance Kompany (LIK). Up next, he has Dulquer Salmaan's I'm Game, directed by Nahas Hidhayath, which marks his Malayalam debut. He will also be starring alongside Keerthy Suresh in Sathyavan Savithiri.
