Earlier this Friday, members of the South Indian Actors' Association, also known as Nadigar Sangam, including President Nasser, Vice Presidents Karunas and Poochi Murugan, and Treasurer Karthi, met CM Vijay at the Secretariat. A picture of Nasser honouring the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu with a bouquet has been widely shared on social media. The Nadigar Sangam members also had a conversation with the CM. However, the specifics of their conversations are yet to be known.
Formally known as C Joseph Vijay, the actor was sworn in as the CM on May 10, Sunday. Since then, he has made some notable decisions, including the closure of TASMAC stores near bus termini, educational institutions and places of worship.
The CM has also permitted a request for 9:00 shows for the film Karuppu, starring Suriya and directed by RJ Balaji. It is worth noting that the Karnataka distributor for Karuppu is KVN Productions, which is the producer of Vijay's swansong, Jana Nayagan. Now that he has become the CM of Tamil Nadu, as for fans and the film fraternity, all eyes are on the release of his final film, Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth. The film is yet to be presented with a censor certificate. Meanwhile, there have been reports about the CM calling for a meeting with the film's producer, Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions.
